  1. Chapter 3: Orange You Glad I’m Here?

QUESTION: What surprised Carly in this chapter?

ANSWER: Last night, Carley asked Julie, for some orange juice, so Julie went out and bought orange juice. Carley’s mom never bought orange juice for Carley, when she asked for some. Instead Carley’s mom would ask her if she was a Rockefeller. The next day, Adam smashed Micheal’s hand, so she kissed Micheal’s hand, then he goes back outside and Adam comes in. She asks Adam if he smashed Micheal’s hand, at first he disagrees, but then Julie asks are you telling the truth, so Adam confesses and says that he deserved it. Julie explains to Adam that family sticks together and looks out for each other. That made her wished that she rather lived with a foster mom that made her sleep in the basement and and smoked. Not only did that surprise Carley, but I was also very surprised because Julie is just so patient and nice. Carley is not use to that, so that’s why she was surprised!

Connection: I remember, when I met my moms friend and she was so nice. No matter what I did, she was just like “Everyone makes mistakes” or “That’s alright, it was already like that” and made me so annoyed. I wished that my mom were friends with someone not too nice and not too mean. Just like, when Carley wished that she rather have a foster mom who made her sleep in the basement and smoked.
