Thursday, May 1st - criteria for "Controverisial Topic"

Reminders:
- notices went home about the walking field trip to Sullivan
- math for grade 6's #1,2
- band on Monday
- read every night of the weekend
- good copy of "Controversial Topic" writing is due on Monday
            - it needs to be stapled to the rough copy
            - please self - assess and attach using the criteria provided


Persuasive Writing

Learning Intention:

     - to learn the difference between a statement and a question
-       - to learn to craft an effective persuasive argument
-       - to clarify for yourself why you believe something

Criteria:

Each point has to be a relevant and quality comment.  No fillers.

 1 – 2 points on each side                 Not yet within expectations
3                                                          Minimally Meeting
4 – 5                                                   Fully Meeting
6+                                                       Exceeding Expectations

A good introduction and conclusion  -  5
Reasons for                           -  5
Reasons against (broken down)  -  5
