The social studies project which is to develop our awareness of the power that media has on our lives is due on Tuesday, February 16. (Criteria in social studies duo tang)
We have been learning about plate tectonics and earthquakes. The students are designing earthquake proof buildings as well as researching earthquake proof buildings. The research as well as the building is due by February 21. (criteria in science duo tang)
We have also been working on our speech skills and we shared our speeches with our buddies today. We will start presenting our speeches by next week on Wednesday, February 10. Everybody signed up for a date to present and you should know the day you signed up for.
As a class we have also decided to enter the popsicle stick bridge building contest. We will be working on that after our earthquake proof buildings are finished. The winning 2 teams from our class will go on to enter the contest at Kwantlen University on February 27, Saturday.
For the grade sevens, we have information on the Sullivan Heights Secondary's parent information evening. See below.
Over the weekend you should:
– Practice your speech in front of an audience
– Start researching earthquake proof buildings
- work on your social studies power of media project
– Practice your multiplication facts
– Finish the science sheet on plate boundaries
– Bring your gym strip for Tuesday
Have a great Family Day weekend.
