October 14

Today we Skype called Mrs. jones' class in Iowa to talk about the book Out of My Mind and to compare our schools and communities.

We also worked on Math.  The grade 6's need to return their math tests signed and the grade 7's have age 12 and 13, # 1, 3-6, 8, and 9 for homework.

Also remember to do a timed sort and read for thirty minutes.

If you have created a sample product for Entrepreneurship, please bring it to share in class. 

Bring back your library books for book exchange tomorrow.

For homework:

  1) read 30 minutes 

2) SS - sheet on what makes a city successful 

3) grade 7s- bring back signed math tests

4) grade 6s - bring back immunization forms

Homework:  1) read 30 minutes and record books read on the 40 books sheet. 2) word work - ask someone to help you do a blind sort. 3) grade 7s bring back your signed math tests.

- Read 30 minutes; remember to be filling in your 40 book challenge sheet as you finish your books.
- Word work: add to your Word Hunt and use 15 of your words from your original list in sentences.

Today we had our Monday morning assembly where we recorded O Canada in French for other schools to use to sing along with.  We also watched while some of the teachers had their hair sprayed with colour because the school raised over $1100 for the Terry Fox Run. Here is what "A" did to Ms. Kooner's hair.

After recess we had a Skype call with our partner class in Montreal to talk about the book Out of My Mind.  We introduced ourselves and discussed the book.  

The grade 6's worked on a review for the math test on Thursday.

For homework: read 30 min.
