Tuesday, January 30

Today we walked to the movie theatre and watched "Wonder." We had a great conversation about the main themes of the movie and compared and contrasted the movie and the book in our conversation.

We've had a busy week!  We've jumped right into our units for this term.  Today, we started to learn how to knit. We have begun by finger knitting.  Here is the video if you want to practice at home.


Remember to buy some really thick yarn. 

We have also begun working on creating our gravity powered cars.  Today we built the chassis and started testing out the movement of the wheels


Over the weekend, remember to write the good copy of your paragraph.  I will be collecting it along with your rough copy and peer editing sheet to see that you were able to use the feedback that you were given.

Welcome back!

This term we will be working on a design challenge in Science to create a gravity powered moving toy. In Social Studies, we will finish learning about Chinese Canadian contributions to Canadian history and society.  In language arts, we will continue our reading challenge and learn techniques to improve our non-fiction writing.
