October 22nd
This week is catch-up week for Daily 5. Many students need to finish their reading responses for the past two weeks or comment on other reading blogs. I will be meeting with the Friday group tomorrow because they didn't get a chance to meet last week.
Today, we shared many of our ideas for the Entrepreneurship Fair. Some of their ideas were : Duct Tape wallets, elastic bracelets in many interesting designs, a pencil or eyeglass holder, and jingle bell bracelets. The deadline for a sample of your product being shared with the class is Monday by the latest. After that, we need to discuss calculating interest, pricing and advertising.
In Science we discussed the needs of living things and if you didn't finish the sheet, it needs to be completed for tomorrow.
In math, we worked on page 51 and 52 and #1 and 2 are for homework for the Grade 6's. The Grade 7's need to finish page 36, #1, 3, 6 7.
For the Global ReadAloud, please respond to class 6A(Ms. Finkelber's class') questions on Edmodo.
Also, don't forget to read for 30 minutes.

We also watched while some of the teachers had their hair sprayed with colour because the school raised over $1100 for the Terry Fox Run. Here is what "A" did to Ms. Kooner's hair.

Today we went to the library, organized our adopt-a-shelf and then worked on our word hunts during Word Work time. Remember to do a word hunt at home today as well. We also read chapter four of Out of My Mind and met all of the characters in Melody's class. We worked with our buddies making a gratitude presentation for Thanksgiving. In between we had math. The grade 7's have a math test on Monday and the grade 6's will have a math test next Wednesday on Unit 1. The grade 6's need to finish #3 on page 39 of the textbook. For Social Studies, everyone needs to finish the table comparing early humans to modern humans.
For a brain break we did a dance - the Shimmy Shake.
